Over the long Memorial Day weekend, the California Highway Patrol in the Morongo Basin arrested six people for driving under the influence - only one arrest contributed to a minor injury, which involved a rollover collision.
The accident took place on southbound Morongo Road where a 19-year old driver, was driving her Dodge pickup. The truck made its way to the dirt shoulder and when driver tried to get back on the road, the truck rolled over. After complaining of neck and back pain, she was taken to the Hi-Desert Medical Center for treatment.
Total arrests for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs for the holiday weekend in San Bernardino County amounted to 196 - two deaths were attributed to drunk driving. The San Bernardino Police Department and the California Highway Patrol are investigating.
