The week did not start off well for two people on the eastbound Interstate 60 in Pomona.
The California Highway Patrol reported that two vehicles - one with a man and the other
with a woman - were on the right shoulder in the early morning hours - they were both having car trouble. While standing on shoulder, they were both struck by a big-rig passing by - one was thrown off the freeway. One of the vehicles caught fire.
After the impact, the big-rig overturned. A crane was called in to stand it up. The big-rig driver was taken to a nearby hospital but did not appear to be badly injured. The freeway was closed for approximately four hours.
The accident is under investigation. Officers are not sure if drugs and/or alcohol were factors in this tragic accident.
I hope the families contact an experienced San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney who will investigate the accident for them to determine if they can file a wrongful death lawsuit.
