A Landers man and his nephew were heading to a local grocery store when they were rear-ended by a pickup truck as they were preparing to turn left into the parking lot.
The impact caused his vehicle to skid across the highway and come to a stop in a dirt parking lot across the street from the market. The man and his nephew didn't appear to be hurt, but the truck driver was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital.
The man and his nephew knew the truck driver. The nephew, while they were waiting to turn left, saw the truck coming up to them and knew they were going to get hit - he yelled it to his uncle. Both vehicles were totaled.
The accident is under investigation to determine why the trucker hit the other vehicle. The Landers man should contact an experienced San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney to see if his is entitled to compensation for his vehicle; he is lucky that he and his nephew were not hurt.
