A 32-year old man lost control of his vehicle on Interstate 15 near Barstow when one of the tires lost tread. It caused the vehicle to veer across all the lanes, hit a concrete divider wall and roll over several times.
Tire defects can lead to serious injury accidents regardless of whether it is due to tire pressure of tire tread separation. It results in the driver losing control over the vehicle, especially at high freeway speeds.
The driver died at the scene while his two passengers, a 35-year old man and 31-year old man sustained only minor bruises.
The California Highway Patrol officers are investigating this fatal accident. If it is determined that the tire tread separation happened because of a manufacturing defect, I urge the family of the victim to contact an experienced San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney to file a claim against the auto maker or tire manufacturer.
