A 23-year old Twenty-nine Palms man died over the weekend on Highway 247 in Johnson Valley when his car rolled over. Statistics show that most rollover accidents happen with trucks and sport-utility vehicles.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, close to 300,000 rollover accidents are reported every year, claiming more than 10,000 lives. Reports indicate that rollover accidents are related to a vehicle's stability in turns.
Reports show that drivers in a rollover accident are usually male and under 25 years old; alcohol often is a factor in the accident. The California Highway Patrol is investigating to determine if alcohol caused this fatal accident or something else, like a mechanical defect.
If the results prove to be a mechanical defect, the family of this young man should contact an experienced San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney to file a lawsuit against the manufacturer of the vehicle.
