An illegal street race took the lives of two Marines, ages 20 and 19, in Twenty-nine Palms, according to the San Bernardino County Coroner's office.
According to reports, the two were driving at a very high speed when the driver lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree, causing the vehicle to burst into flames. Emergency personnel found the two bodies burned beyond recognition; they were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the other vehicle has not been found.
