As if bed bugs in your bed aren't bad enough, a report released by the U. S. Centers for Disease Control and Preventions advises that the sprays used to get rid of them, may cause the consumer to get sick. It indicated that in a total of 80 ill people, one died due to the insecticides used to kill these little creatures.
Although the CDC reviewed cases mostly from New York, there were also cases in California.
The report goes on to say that many of the consumers, who got sick, used the wrong products or used the chemicals incorrectly. The ill consumer complained of vomiting, nausea, headaches, breathing problems and dizziness. It was established that the illnesses were due to excessive insecticide application, inadequate notification of pesticide application and failure to change pesticide-treated bedding.
