A 63-year old man riding an all-terrain vehicle in Barstow died after losing control of his ATV the other day. Losing control caused the ATV to overturn - causing the man to be thrown from it.
Even though ATVs are enjoyed by thousands of people every year, they can also be dangerous. Accidents can result in head, traumatic brain injuries and in this case, death. The number one reason for ATV accidents is negligence on the part of the driver, which includes improper training.
Another common cause of ATV accidents is equipment failure, such as defective brakes, tires, steering or suspension. Equipment failure is often due to negligence on the manufacturer's behalf.
This accident is under investigation. If it is determined that this man's death was caused because of equipment failure, it would be wise for the family to contact an experienced San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney to determine their legal rights and to find out if they are entitled to compensation for medical expenses, pain and suffering.
