California Highway Patrol officers reported to the scene on the southbound side of Interstate 15 in Hesperia after a vehicle crashed into a big-rig.
It is suspected that the man had been drinking. He died at the scene.
California Vehicle Code Sections 23152 (a) and (b) state, "It is a misdemeanor to drive under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and it is a misdemeanor to drive with .08% or more of alcohol in your blood." California law says that a defendant charged with drinking and driving can be convicted of both offenses.
