A 60-year old nursing home resident was out for a stroll one evening when an SUV crashed into him and dragged him about 75 feet.
The SUV drove away without stopping to help the man. The victim died at the scene.
California Vehicle Code Section 20001(a) states, "The driver of any vehicle involved in an accident resulting in injury to any person, other than himself or herself, or in the death of any person shall immediately stop the vehicle at the scene of the accident."
