If a motor vehicle struck you or a family member while you were crossing the street, an inattentive driver is most likely to blame.
According to the San Bernardino County Coroner's office, a deputy sheriff struck a 31-year old Joshua Tree woman who was running across a busy road the other night.
The woman was rushed to a nearby hospital where she died a short time later.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating to determine what caused the accident.
