According to The Victorville Daily Press, a 59-year old motorcyclist lost control of his bike and crashed, causing him to be tossed onto the road. He was taken to a local hospital where he died the following morning from the injuries he suffered.
Officers are investigating to determine what caused him to crash. Friends believe there was a hit-and-run driver involved; however, police cannot find any evidence of another driver.
If there was another driver involved, leaving the scene is against the law. California Vehicle Code Section 20001(a) states, "The driver of a vehicle involved in an accident resulting in injury to a person, other than himself or herself, or in the death of a person shall immediately stop the vehicle at the scene of the accident."
If it is determined that another driver was not involved, it is important to check into other factors such as a mechanical malfunction or vehicle defect.
