A big-rig tanker truck overturned in Fontana recently, closing down all but one lane on the west side of Interstate 10 and causing traffic to back up for many miles.
California Highway Patrol officers reported that the large truck landed on its side in the early morning hours. It was lucky that no fire started when fuel spilled all over the freeway and no injuries were had.
The accident is under investigation to determine what caused the tanker truck to flip over. Officials are checking to see if the driver was at fault by being inattentive, fatigued, distracted or intoxicated. Was he speeding?
