Rush-hour traffic was worse than ever the other even after a big-rig spilled about 24,000 pounds of asphalt across Interstate 15 in Devore.
All northbound lanes were closed for several hours, making the freeway heavily congested for travelers. The good news: no injuries were reported.
The Highway Patrol is investigating to determine what caused this mess. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, driver distractions are the leading cause of most vehicle crashes. The most common cause of distracted driving is cell phone use, followed by reading, looking at something else or reaching for an object inside the vehicle.
It is obvious that the driver of this big-rig lost control, causing his load to spill all over the freeway. If someone in another vehicle had gotten injured because of his negligence, he and his employer could be held liable for the accident, injury and expenses. If you are unlucky enough to get into an accident with a big-rig truck or any type of vehicle and are injured because of their negligent actions, contact an experienced San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney who will fight for your rights and make sure the negligent party is held responsible.
