Workplace fires can injure workers, leaving them with painful burns and other types of injuries.
Rialto firefighters battled a second-alarm fire at a wastewater plant in Colton for about two hours over the weekend, causing nearby streets to be closed for several hours. Because the fire occurred on a Sunday, no one was inside the plant at the time.
The smoke was so thick that drivers on Interstate 10 could see it as they drove by the area. Dispatchers, at first, could not get an exact location because of the heavy smoke. Officials are investigating to determine what caused the fire.
