August did not start well for at least five San Bernardino County drivers. Wednesday, the worst day of the week - three people died in vehicle accidents.
Two accidents happened as a result of drivers suddenly slamming on their brakes because of slower-moving traffic ahead. On Wednesday evening, the CHP reported a three-vehicle accident involving a Cal Fire pickup truck on the 210 Freeway, which killed a 48-year old man.
In the second accident, a 23-year old Ontario girl was killed when her SUV rolled over after she slammed on her brakes, causing the vehicle to hit a center divider, and eject her from the vehicle onto the freeway.
It is important to keep your distance while driving, especially in slow-moving traffic. CHP officers state that limiting your distractions and staying alert while driving keeps you from becoming a statistic.
