A tanker truck driver apparently lost control of his vehicle early Sunday morning in San Bernardino County, causing the truck to flip onto its side. It was filled with propane.
The driver was alone and was able to exit the truck without assistance. No other vehicles were involved. The driver, who sustained minor injuries, was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Another propane truck was called in to transport the nearly 10,000 gallons of propane in the overturned truck. San Bernardino firefighters quickly contained a small diesel fuel spill and made sure a potential fire did not start.
The CHP is investigating to determine what caused the accident. There are questions that need answers: Was the driver fatigued? Did the driver fall asleep at the wheel? Did the truck malfunction?
