A 26-year old man lost control of his SUV the other night, killing himself and injuring a 21-year old passenger and 3-year old boy.
According to reports, the vehicle veered to the right while on the highway, struck a curb, rolled over, hit a guardrail and fell down a steep embankment. The driver was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger suffered major injuries while the little boy escaped with only minor ones. Officers believe that the two adults were not wearing seatbelts.
The investigation into the cause of this fatal accident is underway; there are many questions that need to be answered. Officials are trying to determine if there was a vehicle defect or mechanical malfunction. Was the driver distracted or fatigued? Were the victims wearing seatbelts that malfunctioned?
