Sunday was not a very good day in Rialto, especially for those waiting for the Metrolink trains.
Late afternoon police were called to the scene of an accident near the Rialto Metrolink station. Reports indicate that a driver lost control of his or her vehicle and crashed into a utility pole, causing the pole with its utility wires to collapse across the train tracks.
Passengers were told to leave the train station and other means of transportation were suggested to them. Crews worked for hours to ensure no delays for the Monday morning commute.
Officials are investigating to determine what caused this accident. The driver and occupant were not seriously injured, but were transported to a local hospital as a precaution.
