According to reports, a 41-year old bus driver was arrested recently on suspicion of driving a bus while under the influence.
A deputy responding to reports about her driving made sure that the transit company sent out a replacement driver. It is fortunate that no one on the bus was injured. The bus driver was booked into jail, cited and released the next morning.
The transit company comes under a zero-tolerance drug and alcohol policy. The driver was immediately removed from service and fired shortly after. Following the incident, all bus operators were spoken to in order to reinforce safety requirements.
