Child hurt by automobile

A young boy was hit by a car the other morning while walking in a crosswalk. The accident happened in Fontana near a middle school. A Rancho Cucamonga woman did not stop even though a crossing guard held up a stop sign.

The boy sustained minor injuries on his hand, hip and left side. The woman received a ticket for unsafe speed and failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk. California vehicle code law requires a driver of a vehicle to yield the right-of-way to pedestrians in crosswalks.

The accident is under investigation to determine if the driver was distracted or just driving recklessly. I would advise the boy's family to contact an experienced Personal Injury attorney to advise them of their legal rights and to see if they can be compensated for their medical expenses. In any event, I hope the little boy makes a speedy recovery.
