Bassinet recalls

Burlington Basket Co. recently recalled about 500,000 baby bassinets. The recall is due to the fact that, if not assembled properly, they can collapse. All bassinets were made before June 2010.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the bassinet can collapse if the support rails that hold the basket are not fully locked into place. The manufacturer is offering consumers a free repair kit that shows how to install the support rails correctly; there is no refund or exchange involved.

Apparently, there have been about 10 reports of incidents in which the bassinets collapsed when the folding legs were not locked properly. Two infants received minor injuries, including a bruise to the head.

The bassinets were sold at department stores, juvenile product stores and Wal-Mart.

If you have one of these bassinets and your infant has been injured, contact an experienced San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney who can investigate the incident for you and determine if you are entitled to compensation for any injuries or medical care.
