What a way to start a grocery shopping experience. A woman walking in a grocery store parking lot was killed when a car rolled over onto her.
When Rancho Cucamonga deputies arrived on the scene, they found the 56-year old woman badly injured after the van rolled over onto her. She was taken to a nearby hospital where she died shortly after. The 76-year old driver of the van was also taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.
Reports indicate that the owner of the van was backing out of a handicapped parking spot when she stopped because she thought she hit something. She accelerated forward and hit a vehicle in front of her - causing her vehicle to tip over and onto the pedestrian.
Officers are investigating but the driver cannot remember what happened, the store's surveillance camera was not pointing in that direction and there were no witnesses.
