Drunk driver hits two teenagers

A 68-year old woman suspected of driving under the influence was arrested after she hit a 17-year old boy and 16-year old girl who were walking on the shoulder of the road. The girl sustained major injuries and the boy suffered only minor injuries.

California law prohibits any driver to operate a motor vehicle when their blood alcohol concentration is 0.08% or higher. According to California Vehicle Code Section 23152(a), "It is unlawful for any person who is under the influence of any alcoholic beverage or drug, or under the combined influence of any alcoholic beverage and drug, to drive a vehicle."

The accident is under investigation at this time. If the woman is found to be at-fault for this accident, she could be held liable for the teenager's injuries and damages. If you are injured by a drunk driver or any driver, contact an experienced San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney who has handled pedestrian accident cases.

The woman was arrested on suspicion of DUI causing injury.
