Hit-and-run driver kills two people

Highway 395 in Hesperia was the scene of a hit-and-run accident the other day.

A pickup truck struck an SUV causing it to crash into a pole. The impact killed the female driver and one of the passengers. A 7-year old boy, the second passenger, suffered minor to moderate injuries. He was taken by air to a nearby hospital. One of the women killed was the boy's mother. The pickup driver fled the scene.

California Vehicle Code Sections 20001 and 20002 state, "The driver of any vehicle involved in an accident resulting in injury to any person, or in the death of a person, shall immediately sotp the vehicle at the scene of the accident."

A witness to the accident followed the hit-and-run driver and then phoned police with the information. Officials caught up with the hit-and-run suspect. The Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating to determine what caused this fatal accident.

If you are accused of a hit-and-run accident that caused the death of another, you could be facing a felony criminal charge. Contact a San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney who has been successful in hit-and-run cases - one who will investigate the case and discuss your legal options with you.
