Hit-and-run accident in Victorville

A 49-year old woman walking about 9:00 p.m. on a dirt shoulder in Victorville was hit by a vehicle that fled the scene.

When officers found her they airlifted her to a nearby hospital where she is in critical but stable condition, suffering with severe head trauma.

California Vehicle Code Section 20001 states, "The driver of any vehicle involved in an accident resulting in injury to any person, other than himself or herself, or in the death of any person shall immediately stop the vehicle at the scene of the accident." Hit-and-run with injury to another person is a felony offense in California.
