A 54-year old Yucca Valley woman trying to cross a road in the evening hours was killed. The San Bernardino County Coroner's office reported that at least two vehicles, possibly three, struck her before she was killed. In addition, they stated that not only was she walking along a dark stretch of the highway
but she was also wearing dark-colored clothing.
The first vehicle to hit her was driven by a 71-year old man who told investigators that she just walked out in front of his SUV. In a second vehicle, a 39-year old man reported that he did not see the victim and ran over her. Witnesses reported that a third vehicle hit her, but the car continued on without stopping. This has not been confirmed as yet.
She was pronounced dead at the scene. The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department is investigating.
