Pedestrian killed in a hit-and-run accident

A 49-year old Victorville woman was found lying on the roadside by a passing ambulance; she was pronounced dead at the scene.

An investigation is underway to determine what happened. Police believe she was hit and killed by a hit-and-run driver - a driver who left an injured woman on a roadside to die.

It is illegal for a driver to flee the scene of an accident. California Vehicle Code Section 20001(a) states, "The driver of a vehicle involved in an accident resulting in injury to a person, other than himself or herself, or in the death of a person shall immediately stop the vehicle at the scene of the accident."

It would be wise for the family of the victim to contact an experienced San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney who will make sure the rights of the victim and her family are protected.
